The questions are endless but the answers are somehow limited. But who is bound to take on this responsibilities and who isn't? This corruption/curiosity brought us to this day and age of Steamboy where steam has suddenly become a raw material of very little knowledge, and because of this limited knowledge that they bear at this moment of the age, Complexities are to be created, cause with new discoveries, comes new responsibilities. In this case it is the scenario of corruption of power and the wicked curiosity of human beings that we bear. but they say that everything that once were good can always turn bad. The story mainly dwells around the era where inventors took a huge step in finding new a material which could be crafted for the use of mechanical engineering service. This will be the huge battle between good and evil, a battle for redemption, and the battle for the near future. As things quickly turn out to be far worse than Ray expected, he is quickly instructed to not let the steam ball fall into the hands of the wrong people, which suddenly drags the mighty O'hara foundation to the midst of it all, since they desperately wants to bring the steam ball back in their control so they can achieve their not so noble goals.īut in order for that not to happen, Ray must use every bit of his brilliance in order to dodge tge countless goons that are sent to snatch the device from him. The package he received contains a specific device called a "Steam Ball", which is a device so powerful that it can drive any machine that requires steam with a nearly limitless amount of energy. One day his life is suddenly turned upside down when he receives a special kind of package hailed from the United States, which was sent by his grandfather, Loyd Steam. Ray is young wunderkind inventor living in Victorian England. It was fairly enjoyable, that's the least i can say. The anime kept it's status while the game did it's own show. Steamboy also gained alot of recognition which made them release a game for ps2. Steamboy is said to be one of the most expensive anime movies made to date. The father and the scientist that started it all together with his dad (Loyd Steam). Whereas in steamboy he lays voice to the father of Ray Steam, James Edward Steam. A 72 year old voice actor/narrator that have had the pleasure of laying voices to many different kind of anime characters. Now for a legend of this time which is Masane Tsukayama. This wasn't her first appearance as a voice actors since she laid voice to some characters in the big franchise of "Initial D" which also was her small step towards something bigger.
Steamboy anime city movie#
The Young woman with the name of Anne Suzuki made a big appearance in this movie as she laid voice to the main protagonist (Ray Steam). The movie was released the 17th of July 2004, while it's airing time was 126 minutes long which isn't considered much for a movie the centers around an era where there is so much to share. The man himself who directed the so famous movie called "Akira" which I'm sure most of you anime fans know of. The Steam punk classic was produced by none other than "Sunrise" themselves while being directed/Co-written by Katsuhiro Otomo. Bur besides from that, then it was enjoyable. So there presence in the movie was confusing. Such as certain characters that weren't introduced to well. But there were a few things that bothered me. There weren't many things I didn't like about this movie. And especially not in an era where weapons had slowly started to surface. The fact that Steamboy was a direct view the on past, and how the story developed around the creation of a new era where steam was the main product. The fact that Steamboy removed the sheltered housing around the sub genre of steam punk and then threw some new light upon the glorious sub genre, was something that enlightened my view on the particular product of it's premise.
